In my Seventh week, I met with Ray’s Auto Body to discuss Domain Names and Web Hosting. I was able to ask which domain name they wanted and I recommended raysautojackson.com as their domain name because it is simple to remember, and it is showing that the auto shop is located in Jackson and they agreed with me right away. I gave them three web hosting providers to choose from: BlueHost, HostGator, and GoDaddy. I recommended GoDaddy as their web hosting provider because it’s fast and secure for their domain, includes cPanel where you are able to install web applications like WordPress, and you can also access the File Manager through cPanel to edit your web page. They also agree with me on that part as well. However, if they didn’t agree with my recommendations for both topics, they could pick anyone they wanted and it would be approved by me. I installed WordPress and had to look for an Auto Shop Theme to go with the Wireframes and their small business. They are however having a difficult time choosing color schemes for their site. They are also in need of a logo so I managed to look up some logo choices in Google to help them choose which interests them the most. For Germantown Sno-Drifters, I am reviewing and communicating with the client to ask which Google Site Template they wanted for their new site and had already chosen a Google Site Template. Now, they are not sure if they want the Google Event Template or something else. The good thing is that they have a logo and they will want the colors from the logo to be applied on the site. I am now creating the Color Palette document and selecting the color from the logo in Photoshop because it makes it a lot easier. I am going to meet my client this weekend to discuss the Google Site Templates and the overall site. Their site is a subdomain of WCASC. Here is their old site that will be deleted when am done with their new site: http://snodrifters.wcasc.org/. Other than that, my week is going well as planned.
